Environment Liaison Center International

MEMBERSHIP SERVICES

ELCI serves as aglobal meeting place where NGO's and CBO's worldwide can come together and speak with one voice on environment and sustainable development. Through membership, ELCI main mandate has been to ensure the door is open to Civil Society voice in international environment processes through facilitating information exchange, networking and providing a forum for communication especially for those who are unable to attend these global processes in person.

Currently, ELCI has more than 800 members scattered across the various regions of the world. Membership is free of charge and is open to registered Non Government Organization (NGO's) and Community Based Organization (CBO's) working on environment and sustainable development issues.

Objectives

  • To facilitate inputs of ELCI members and partners in global policy making fora, including the international environmental conventions e.g.: Convention for Biodiversity (CBD) and Commission for Sustainable Development (CSD)

  • To facilitate sharing of information and networking amongst other members working on environment and sustainable issues.

  • To provide a platform to share lessons learnt with other issue based members.

Through linkages with other ELCI programmes and activities, membership would be able to facilitate networking and information sharing among member organizations and ELCI

In our quest to continue to provide our members with better services and add value to their programme activities, the website provides an interactive web-forum or e-disscusion board, an online resource center and directory of members, key partners, donors and collaborators, a news and events page among other features which will help in making ELCI membership more robust and easy to navigate.
